Join us on 8 November (Remembrance Sunday) for a special informal meeting focused on the Great War, and the 102nd anniversary of Armistice! Leadership Team member Ian Ference will be running the meeting, but everybody is invited and encouraged to bring stories, poems, reflections on what the Great War means to them, and of course stereoviews – though please note that even those without experience in stereography are welcome to attend! We announced this meeting unusually early – both because there’s no strict agenda to set, and because some people will be booking up various Zoom, Google Meet, livestreams, etc for the day. So please mark your calendars now!
Ian personally will be sharing some previously unpublished stereoviews from the Boyd/Jordan/Ference Collection, a couple of poems, and a brief excerpt from “A Tommy at Ypres”, Walter Williamson’s trench diary, so hilarious that it has the feel of being written by a previous incarnation of Douglas Adams. You’re invited to share whatever you like – stereoviews, flat photos, poems, ongoing research, family history, First World War book reviews, or your thoughts on some aspect of the War and its remembrance. You’re also invited to attend off-camera, mute your mic, and just kick back and enjoy!
The meeting will be held at 2 PM EST on 8 November, 2020.
